I had never filled out a form evaluating a program, but I think
it went well. It took me a little while to figure out exactly what I needed to
put into the form. I also did not realize that the trouble shooting piece was
at the bottom of each page, so I had to go back and redo a little bit.
This week A lot of people interacted on my blog. Most people
were talking about how they enjoyed DuoLingo and where interested in the unit
plan that I want to teach about culture and try to incorporate the different languages
into the lesson. This was encouraging to read and think more about.
The first Blog I commented on this week was Kendra’s blog
about Nearpod. She had talked about buying lessons and I was not keen on this
but then I read Josie’s post about the same program and understood it better.
Josie talked about being able to upload your own lessons and I think that would
be a good thing. I liked the idea of poling the class to see where they are
with the learning. I thought it might be fun to use that in the classroom as a
pre-assessment. I also commented on Gerald’s blog about SAS. We talked about
how it would be good to give students an introduction and then let them explore
the program on their own. I also commented on Mariah and Jim’s blogs.
This week I learned about multiple programs. It was nice to
see what other people thought of programs and what might be good to use in my
own classroom. I truly think that I would use the program that I considered for
the classroom. I think that students in high school could use it to help them
in a second language class as well as with younger students as an extra thing
to do when they finish other work or to do at home.
